Often a claim for personal injury will include a claim for lost wages, medical expenses and domestic assistance. It can also include a claim for pain and suffering. There are a number of things that you can do to assist your solicitor with your claim:
- Bring with you to your first conference with Taylor & Scott all the paperwork you have for your claim;
- Throughout your claim, keep a diary of all those things around the home you could do before the accident but can now no longer do because of your injuries;
- Have those people that are helping you around the home also keep a diary of the time spent each week providing care for you and what work is carried out;
- Provide us with up to date pay slips at the time of your injury and your income tax returns and group certificates for the 5 years prior to your injury. If you don’t have them we will obtain them for you;
- Provide us with all receipts for medical expenses paid for by you for your accident injuries;
- Advise your solicitor of any further treatment doctors are suggesting that you have;
- Don’t be embarrassed, we’ve heard it all before. Tell your lawyer of all the problems you are suffering as a result of your accident, he/she is an expert and wants to help you.
