One evening she was on a machine manufacturing plastic buckets. Seated at a large table she carried out quality control and then secured the handles to the buckets. The work was fast paced. The design of her work station was extremely dangerous. She was surrounded by pallets. Under her table, the company had placed a smaller table. After processing a number of buckets, she stood up to carry the stack of buckets to a pallet. As she turned away from her work station, her foot was caught under the smaller table causing her to fall to the concrete floor. She landed heavily on her side. An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital. She had suffered a serious fracture involving the top of her leg and her hip. Climbing stairs, doing the housework, looking after her husband are all now nearly impossible to do.
