Our client was a keen cyclist who enjoyed riding his bike after work each day.  On this particular afternoon, he set off for a long ride through the hills near his home.  Nearing the end of his ride, a dog charged out onto the road and attempted to bite him.  In an effort to avoid being bitten by the dog, our client fell from his bike.  In the Dog Attack, he suffered broken ribs, a broken shoulder, cuts and abrasions.  The accident was witnessed and the owners of the dog were identified.  Our client was admitted to hospital for treatment.

THE LAW CONCERNING DOG ATTACKS

Dog owners are responsible for the actions of their dog.  Advice was sought from our Dog Attack Compensation Expert Litigation Team here at Taylor & Scott.  We conducted a Free Case Assessment and acted for our client on a no-win/no-pay basis.

Our Dog Attack Compensation Lawyer Team commenced proceedings in the District Court of New South Wales.  A claim was made against the owners of the dog who fortunately for them owned a house which was insured, which meant that their public liability insurer acted for them in the case.

THE DOG BITE COMPENSATION CLAIM

Our team sued for compensation to cover our client’s:

  • Loss of wages whilst he couldn’t work;
  • All of his medical expenses;
  • A lump sum to compensate our client for the physical and psychological injuries suffered in this traumatic event.

Eventually the matter came to a settlement conference and our team were able to secure full compensation for our client.

If you are injured by a Dog Bite or Dog Attack, or if any other animal causes you injury, you may be able to seek compensation from the owner of that animal.

Please ring our Animal Attack Compensation Specialists on 1800 600 664 or complete the Contact Form on this page.

We will provide a Free Case Assessment.  If we act, it will be on a no-win/no-pay basis meaning if you don’t win, we don’t get paid.

At Taylor & Scott Lawyers Experience. Commitment. Results.
